Re: Tracks!

I've been a good citizen and stayed off the trails all May. I actually drove up to Stowe last weekend, but the vibe was not good - cars crammed into the Notch lot, no distancing etc. But this weekend I weaseled my way onto Lincoln Peak through a side door and had the upper mountain all to myself. Th...

Re: Tracks!

A high-elevation snowstorm Thursday and Friday allowed Lee and me to get out on the Butterfield loop for one last tour. It was pretty darn fun. The snow was going fast though. A nice little surprise, and 100% Executive Order compliant, pretty much. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49765877806_2f4...

Re: Cutler River Drainage to be Closed to Public Access

I'm hanging it up. Got one last ski in on some woods trails south of Bolton Valley. The bear tracks were cool. I'm hoping that this shitstorm blows over in time for Slackfest, but if not, well, there's always next year. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49740356107_dcb1500555_b.jpg https://live.st...

Re: Cutler River Drainage to be Closed to Public Access

You're right, in theory. But it's only April 2nd! This is killing me.

Re: Cutler River Drainage to be Closed to Public Access

One by one, all Vermont resorts have banned uphill travel due to the high volume of skinners, many congregating in large packs. It's a shame that people have ruined a good thing by not maintaining safe distances from each other. I imagine the same is happening in NH. I'm racking my brain for ski tou...

Re: Tracks!

Tracks of a different sort - classic tracks. So Lee and I had been planning a trip to Whistler for months, and we were celebrating our arrival at the condo with a beer, when Vail shut the whole mountain down for the season. Not blaming Vail, but the timing was just too goddamn tragic for words. We w...

Re: Tracks!

I love your little videos, vt_trees. Do you tour with a camera crew, or do you rig up some kind of tripod thingy?
