Re: Cutler River Drainage to be Closed to Public Access

Thanks for posting the link Rob. After the snow last week I was ready to skin and ski 11" of fresh at Cannon (8" in my yard). Son the Elder was up and ready to go with me first thing. No easy task for a college freshman to be up at 7:30. I pulled the plug for two reasons. 1. The freeze thaw cycle at...

Re: Tracks!

I’d love to rob but scheduling won’t allow it this week.

Love the photos though!

Re: Tracks!

Sounds like a nice tour Rob. It may be bugs on my end but your photos are just blue question marks. Son the Younger and I went up to the Crescent Ridge glades yesterday since the snow storm was a bust here but I had heard they got decent snow in Randolph. We were pleasantly surprise at the snow bank...

Re: Tracks!

I happened to be working the last couple of days at the house that accompanies this field. https://i.imgur.com/w3WErqgl.jpg You probably recognize it as it's my go to meadow skipping arena. Tried out my new pair of Rossi BC 80s. Got in some kick and glide through the forest trails and made some reas...

Re: Tracks!

Less snow accumulated over here than west and north of us. So like a fool I went south and east on Saturday afternoon. Son the Younger and I still had fresh tracks though, even if they weren't deep. Time for a photo dump..... https://i.imgur.com/shxTCVil.jpg I'm sure people recognize our spot. https...

Re: Thing happening at, well, downhill ski areas

I’m hoping Bob and Robin will make it to Cannon this spring. I’m hoping some of his leathers and pins magic will rub off on me. I’ll give you a heads up if it happens.

Re: Thing happening at, well, downhill ski areas

Seems I’ve been too busy to post for awhile, though I do a quick lurk once in awhile. I made it over to Mt. Abram for the Tele Fest that Jim Tasse is now putting on. Lots of old NET crew there. Ran into Bob Dow, Robin Roaf and Chris Goldsen Friday night at the bar while Jim was strumming some gratef...

Nice Bob! It’s nice to see white outside.

Re: August and everything after

I finally made back out to finish up the signage. I also grabbed as much of the flagging that was left out there as I could. I left the trio of flags in your photo, Bob, because I thought that was a nice marker for dropping into lines 3 & 4. https://i.imgur.com/CM4yXyIl.jpg I can't wait for snow now...

Re: August and everything after

is there an exit route planned, or do you just skin back up to the top of Cole Hill and ski out the way you skinned up? Hi Craig, the plan is an out and back area. Skin up from the kiosk via that orange trail on the map, it's actually called the blue trail on the property. Ski the glades, skinning ...
