Out in the late afternoon soup stitching together an exit from the big woods back to civileyezayshun. Surprisingly decent corn.
The usual suspects.

Arrow (Drop's new name due his ski-the-fall-line prowess), Tractor (Underbrush's new name due to his steep skin tracks and towing us all around Oakes on a guided tour), and Hack (my new name due to assessing skiing skills after being out with two guys who can actually ski) took advantage of low winds and sunny skies to ski Oakes yesterday.
Up.
Hut stop.
The top.
And in.
And back up and in some more.
Peering into an abyss.
Homeward bound following the late afternoon migration.
Another abyss.
Arrow and Tractor killing it.
Contemplating a sweet descent and day in the mountains.

Meanwhile at lower elevations in the WW, we said sayonara to the local haunts yesterday evening. One last hike up.
Turns out Cooper isn't much of a leaper. One last snow bridge...
...and we're done for the season in this zone at least. Will be hunting for local turns elsewhere.

Saturday the Mrs. and I redeemed a gift to stay at the Cruise Ship at the base of the west side aka The Mt. W. Hotel. I asked that we go in April so that I could sneak out one day and ski wonderful April corn. It didn't exactly work.
View from the porch.
The ART looks great!
Oh wait, no it doesn't.
The brook is blown out.
But up above, it's continuous... and rock hard.
Alien tractor beam.
Transition fun at the top of an icy gully. Found some fresh in the margin and tried not to drop anything.
Bonzai!
Look back.
Don't. Slip. Left.
And out.
Texted B from the car who met me on the porch with a beer. Best part of the day by far! By the way, a bunch of us should rent one of the condos that sits next to the Mt. W. Hotel and are largely empty in April and create a grill and chill base camp for westside exploits.
